Lockdown Days: What Can You Do At Home?
Hi you all. Hope everyone is safe and is staying home. The corona chaos has taken over most part of the world and it definitely is not a pretty sight. We all want out on that for sure as soon as possible, but for that we all have to stay home and cooperate with the officials/medical professionals. To keep yourself updated about the pandemic and its precautions, please do check out official WHO website. Most of the countries/cities are under coronavirus lockdown to help stop the spread, so that we can get over this as soon as we can.
Many of the people across the globe have gone into self-quarantine mode or imposed quarantine by the governments. I understand it can be a bit agitating and taxing given the situation. Boredom seeps in at some point or the other, but we need to understand that it is important to stop the spread before it gets way worse and makes it way to the majority of the population. Stay indoors, cancel your travel plans (for a while) or large gatherings, it can all happen later, it’s important to be safe and keep others safe first. Time to act in accordance to what’s best for all (:
Here are couple of ideas I put together which can be done, while being at our homes in isolation, courtesy coronavirus lockdown:
– Spend time with your family:
Of course this is a given, while being put at home, but think of it as a blessing. How long has it been since you stayed home with your family for a longer period. It’s a great opportunity to spend quality time with your family, which you often forget in the hustle of everyday life.
– Start a new hobby:
Always wanted to start a new hobby, but had no time? Then this the time, the universe has given you the time in abundance, at least for a couple of weeks, that you should carry on later too. Do that art, cook that food, read that book, and learn that music instrument. Options are many, take your pick.
– Make your to-do list, write a journal:
I am sure we all have things which we have been delaying due to whatever reasons, so make a list (talking to an old friend, writing a book, starting a blog, meditate, getting connected to nature) and see what you can do. Also, maintaining a journal is a great idea of the daily happenings, be the simplest. Don’t forget to write a few words of gratitude.
– Go crazy with games:
We all love them don’t we? Online or board games at home. Keep yourself entertained and also connected with your friends and family. What a great way to spend time when you are not working from home.
– Reflect on your life, reassess your choices:
This is a great time to just take a step back, reflect and see the life and world around you. I am sure you will find a lot of things that need to be reworked on, make new wiser decisions for the greater good.
– Dance your heart out:
Who needs a club when you can do this at home? Put on some nice music and dance along. It will not only keep your spirits high and help you not get bored, but is also a great exercise. Get on the floor now!
– Meditate; do some yoga:
Mental health is equally important, whether you are doing something else or not. So take some time out from your Netflix, games and sleep to meditate, pray or do some yoga. Keep yourself in check and help others whenever they need someone.
Apart from those mentioned above, here are some things you can do while at it: decorate your house, clean your house, take up sewing, in-house gradening, and of course self-care.
Don’t forget to be there for others
While at it, do not forget to be there for others, everyone deals with it in a different way, so give some space if they need that or talk to them if they are having anxiety dealing with the situation. Check in on people randomly, even though they might not say it, I am sure everyone needs it.
It can get very lonely out there with everyone in their homes, no doubt about that, but a little hello or a phone call can help people get through it together. Do video calls with friends, laugh a bit, those are your parties for the coming days. And with people in your home, have your own spaces but make sure to do things together, such as cooking, reading or blowing some steam off by talking.
Let’s take care of each other, while in person or virtually and get through this. Make the most of your downtime. Heal yourself and let the earth heal, maybe then the world can come out it a better place. Be safe y’all. Sending lots of love and wishes your way! <3
