Broccoli Soup: An Easy Peasy Quick Guide to Health
Hey you all, Happy Monday. Back sooner this time. Feeling a little better and thought why not! So today I am here with a quick DIY broccoli soup; yes you read that right. I was sick and I loved it. It is super nutritious as well as great for a quick dinner idea. Everything I come up with will be hardy 10-15 minutes, coz who likes to waste time in the kitchen too much right? Unless it is a proper meal and there are people over. Healthy and quick is the way I like it.
Love your greens
So not a lot of people actually do like greens (am I right or am I right?) but if its in this way I am sure everyone will! Take my word for it. It is important that we include some greens in our daily meals to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the long run. They give you the nutrients you require plus keeps your gut health happy. Ok enough being text booky, let’s move on to making the soouuupppppp! Slurpp!!
Things you need
Let’s get to what all we need:
- Broccoli (of course – grated or finely chopped)
- Some butter
- Garlic (few cloves)
- Ginger (optional)
- A spoon of flour
- A little milk
- Seasoning (Salt/Pepper)
- Herbs (optional)
The Process
Now that we have that covered, how do we make the super in-demand broccoli soup?
Get a pan, add in some butter and then the garlic (smells so heavenly, be sure to focus), then add in the spoon of flour and let it cook for a minute, be sure to keep stiring while at it, you wouldn’t want it lump up. Then pour in the milk (according to the consistency you require, I don’t prefer it too milky to be honest), again keep stiring, so that its smooth and lovely. Then what? Add in some water and broccoli, let it cook. Top it with some salt and pepper according to your preference, you can also add some herbs and oregano if you like them (definitely elevates the favour). That is about it!
Super quick and super yum broccoli soup right out of the heat for ya. You can pair it up with some toast or salad to make it a full meal. 😀
Why you should try it out
Just to make this a little more tempting in terms of nutrition, broccoli is a great source of folic acid, vitamin C and K. Also, fights inflammation, cancer and is great for your heart and brain health. Need any more reasons? So go stock up some and make sure to soup it up.
Pro tip: You can also semi boil the broccoli and puree it, that is if you do not like the chunks that keep coming in your mouth, which I love.
P.S. How you like soups? Frankly, I am not a very big soup fan, but once in a while that is what you need in life. Right? What is your favourite soup? Also, do you like quick healthy DIY recipe posts? Would you like to see more of these? Please do let me know in the comments below!
